About us

United Way of the River Cities fights for health, education and financial stability for every person in our community.

We focus on these critical issues in six counties across West Virginia and Ohio. We also support safety-net (basic needs) services to ensure individuals and families have access to the foundations of living.

We fight by forging partnerships, by mobilizing both human and financial resources, and by inspiring people to join us to create solutions to our community’s most pressing problems. United Way provides funding to agency programs and works collaboratively with organizations and individuals. We focus on outcomes, so we know that our investment of donor dollars is making the most significant impact.

United Way of the River Cities’ community partnerships – the Prevention Empowerment Partnership, the Education Initiative, and the Free Tax Coalition – are funded by grants and United Way of the River Cities.
